Interview with Leslie, a new recruit at Apave: Developing involvement through an integration programme

Top News02/22/2023

After the integration of 1,500 talents in 2022, the Apave Group, a major international player in risk management, is continuing its development and launching its new campaign to recruit 1,600 new employees - including 800 permanent employees - in France and abroad.

In line with the ambitions of its 2025 strategic plan, this recruitment plan will support the Group's development projects and the strong growth dynamic that has been underway since 2021.

Involvement

at the heart of the business

Leslie is a Health and Safety Coordinator (SPS) in Tours.

"Regulations and prevention are the basis of my job. It's a question of being diplomatic to get the people working on a site to respect the rules and standards.
Analysing the risks of each site according to the machines present, the configuration of the site, the tasks carried out, the different teams working together, drawing up a plan to prevent risks on the sites, and meeting the requirements of the regulations and standards, that is the daily job of an SPS coordinator.

With the objective of zero accidents, Leslie has been able to work on a wide variety of projects, from hospitals and historical monuments to renewable energies, such as wind power and photovoltaics. In other words, involvement is essential to prevent and control the risks to which workers are exposed.

On arrival, each Apave team member receives a safety equipment package. Leslie testifies to a warm welcome and daily supervision so that she can quickly become autonomous on projects. Managing safety on sites is no longer seen as a matter of manpower, it's a question of expertise. Health and safety coordination (CSPS) on construction sites is required of project owners from the design phase and during the execution of the work. It results from the obligations of the labour code, aiming to reduce the risks of captivity of the building site and subsequent interventions.
