A system unprecedented in France

A system unique in France has been installed on the pylons of this aerial tramway: the HighStep system. Apave supported the manufacturer during the crucial qualification phase of this system, an innovative technology for safe access to the pylons.
- Climbing is performed using pedals that allow the operator to adapt the amplitude of his steps.
- As an alternative to pedals, the system features an electric elevator, which effortlessly transports personnel or loads (rack-and-pinion system).
This system, deployed on 22 C1 towers, offers technicians a smooth ascent, with the possibility of stopping anywhere in safety without a landing, and considerably reduces effort and drudgery when working at height. A first in France.
Our role goes far beyond inspection. We are a trusted partner, providing the peace of mind the customer needs before opening to the public. On a project as innovative as Câble C1, our expertise guarantees that technology rhymes with absolute safety.
Apave's intervention: guaranteeing lifting compliance
Within the framework of this technical assistance for lifting equipment, Apave is recognized as a trusted third party to carry out :
- fitness-for-use tests (on-site static and dynamic tests)
- Drafting of test reports for system commissioning.
This mission was carried out by Yannick Roux, accompanied by Jérôme Jacquemot, mechanical equipment inspector, who were mobilized directly on the C1 site, under sometimes extreme conditions. The customer praised their commitment and expertise.
"We were very satisfied with Yannick Roux's service: his expertise, his insight into regulations and his presence in the field. He preferred to carry out the tests himself, to gain a better understanding of the new system and guarantee the reliability of the results", Jean-Pierre Baudichon, Technical Director , Doppelmayr France.
A showcase project for urban mobility

For Apave, this collaboration fully illustrates its role as a trusted player for a safer world: securing innovation without holding back progress.
