Alongside the decarbonisation measures already in place, an annual initiative is undertaken to improve methodological reliability. This is based on reducing uncertainties and gradually replacing monetary ratios with physical activity data, thereby ensuring more precise monitoring of environmental performance.
As has been the case every year since 2022, the Apave Group’s GHG inventory is monitored by a third-party organisation, which validates the calculation methodology, the assumptions and any amendments made. The main amendment made in 2025 relates to reducing calculation uncertainties.
The analysis of the Apave Group’s GHG inventory is divided into two scopes:
- The first scope covers the legal entities as at 2022, enabling the measurement of efforts made across the Group’s operations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- The second scope covers the full range of legal entities analysed in the 2025 financial report.
Decarbonisation: 4 key drivers
Four key areas have been identified for tackling the main sources of emissions:
- Mobility, linked mainly to business travel;
- Property, through the modernisation and improved energy efficiency of sites;
- Procurement, by incorporating more sustainability criteria into relationships with suppliers;
- Energy consumed in buildings and infrastructure.
Every decision counts, as does every emission avoided. It is a question of taking considered action. The Group’s role is to provide the framework and the guiding principles. Action must then be taken at local level, in line with the market, the industry and the specific characteristics of each site.
These key priorities are translated into operational initiatives rolled out in the various countries where the Group operates.
