The transport sector is facing major challenges, in particular that of moving towards green mobility while reducing its environmental impact. The constant growth in urbanisation (by 2050, 68% of the world's population will be urban) and the demand for mobility of goods and people places transport at the heart of future policies. While individual transport is still in the majority, the challenge is for public transport to account for 35% of urban travel worldwide by 2050 (Source: OECD).
