Apave Group consolidates its technical training offering in Northern Europe with the acquisition of OComp in Norway

A major player in the Norwegian training market, OComp supports more than 200 customers from its headquarters in Bergen in upgrading the skills of their teams. A specialist in demanding environments, the company offers a catalog of over 200 training courses, more than half of which are designed in-house, covering critical areas such as safety and survival at sea, drilling and well control, and lithium-ion battery safety.

Backed by an agile, digitalized operating model, OComp delivers its training courses via a network of 23 sites spread along the Norwegian coastline. This geographical proximity, combined with the expertise of a network of over 40 specialized instructors from the industry, enables the company to offer flexible and competitive support, meeting the most stringent regulatory standards such as STCW, Offshore Norway, IWCF and IADC.

The acquisition of OComp marks an acceleration in the Apave Group's activities in Northern Europe. It represents a strategic step forward for the Group's training offer in this region, creating a strong complementarity of expertise. By setting up in Bergen, one of the world's main hubs for the maritime and offshore sectors, the Group is closer to the key decision-making centers in Norway, enabling it to offer a comprehensive, integrated training program. OComp's expertise in the maritime and aquaculture sectors thus complements the expertise of Trainor, which joined the Group in 2023, in electrical safety training and e-learning solutions. This combination now makes it possible to offer a more comprehensive and integrated training offering, meeting the most critical skills enhancement needs of Norway's major industrial players. By drawing on the historic expertise of Apave Mare in Croatia, the Group's benchmark for maritime training, Apave is increasing its capacity to meet the most demanding standards of the global maritime industry.
