As part of the complete rehabilitation of the Cartagena railway station in Murcia, Apave worked alongside the Spanish rail operator ADIF to provide construction supervision and project management to support the client team.

Monitoring and predictive maintenance
Ap’Structure is a dynamic solution designed to assess the structural health of assets through diagnostics using autonomous sensors capable of identifying specific areas of concern. Their high sensitivity enables the collection of precise data to create a “structural identity” at a specific point in time and monitor its evolutions through regular measurement campaigns. This diagnostic process qualifies the degree of degradation and, where necessary, allows for the scheduling of predictive maintenance to ensure the long-term viability and safe operation of the asset.
Ap’Structure requires no operational downtime and can be applied to civil engineering structures, industrial buildings, car parks, or buildings undergoing a change of use. This non-destructive method is also used to measure cable tension (stay cables, prestressing cables) using vibration analysis.
Detailed inspection of the Gustave Flaubert Bridge in Rouen (France)
This iconic bridge, commissioned in 2008, underwent a detailed inspection to thoroughly verify its structural condition. The steel and concrete structures of the entire asset were subject to a detailed visual check by our Infrastructure specialists (assisted by rope access technicians and divers). These checks make it possible to inventory and map any issues (corrosion, paint chips, cracks, etc.), allowing the client, the Direction Interdépartementale des Routes Nord-Ouest, to plan a preventive maintenance programme. This assignment meets a dual challenge: ensuring the infrastructure's longevity and using the structure safely.
This specific bridge inspection assign-ment entrusted to Apave was carried out successfully within tight deadlines, while keeping disruption to users to a minimum.
