Angola: Apave takes to the heights for the construction follow-up and health and safety coordination of TOTAL’s High-Rise Building (HRB)

After the validation of the design of TOTAL Angola’s HRB in Luanda, which was carried out in 2006/2007, the Texan firm of architects EDI / BAYVIEW has just awarded Apave the construction follow-up contract for this 18-story building with 2 basement levels (43,000 m2 of flooring). This project will consist of carrying out the construction follow-up (provision of 2 civil engineers on a full-time basis for at least 3 years) and of carrying out the health and safety coordination in compliance with French regulations (provision of a health and safety coordinator on a full-time basis for 3 years). As well as these permanent members of personnel, interventions will also be made as and when necessary by experts in fire prevention, electricity, thermics / air conditioning and elevators. The teams have now been in place in Luanda since the start of April 2009.
